SOUTH AMERICA

South America is a landscape of extraordinary contrasts. Within Argentina alone the traveller can explore the high Andes and the last vestiges of the Inca civilisation in the northwest, visit the dramatic Igazu falls plunging through tropical rainforests on the Brazilian border, fish for golden Dorado and shoot wild doves in the steamy provinces of Corrientes and Entre Rios, and visit the wine producing vineyards of Mendoza. The southern half of Argentina and Chile is known as Patagonia, a vast landscape of legendary beauty and inaccessibility where most of our riding and fishing holidays are based. The scenery here includes the rolling hills and superb trout rivers of the Patagonian steppes, the dramatic mountains and lakes of Nahuel Huapi and Lanin National Parks, and the Perito Moreno glacier in Los Glaciares National Park. The southernmost province of Tierra del Fuego is home to two of the finest sea trout rivers in the world, and the starkly beautiful Torres del Paine National Park lies inside Chile on the rugged western side of the Andes Mountains. In Ecuador we offer rides that traverse a landscape of magnificent volcanic peaks and high grassy steppes that are home to colourful Ecuadorian cowboys and their livestock. For a complete contrast visit the stunning Los Roques archipelago, a collection of some 350 islands in the Caribbean Sea eighty miles off the north coast of Venezuela where you will discover delicious fresh seafood, a laid back ambience and some of the best salt water fly fishing in the world. Whist in Venezuela you may also like to explore the surreal surroundings of Gran Sabana, or visit the mighty angel falls.
